STRATEGIC PLANNING SEMINAR
AT AFRICAN DADA RESORT
25TH-27TH NOVEMBER 2016.
Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphans is a community based organization which was established through sermons (darsas) in a good number of mosques with an aim of developing the welfare of Muslim orphans by organizing fund raising in the mosques, from well-wishers and donors.
The organization held a strategic planning retreat from 25th November 2016 to 27th November 2016 at African Dada Resort.
The goals of the retreat was to:
●Discuss the current situation of Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphans.
●Conduct SWOT Analysis (S-Strengths, W-Weaknesses, O-Opportunities and T-Threats) available in Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphans.
●Look at Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphan’s Challenges and Possible Solutions.
●Develop Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphan’s Strategic Plan.
Four Strategic goals were selected at the retreat and these are:
1.To lift community moral and Orphans experience with stronger organization capacity.
2.To improve the communication and flow of information within Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphans to provide better services to the Orphans.
3.To meet the community needs and expectations of the Orphans.
4.To make Malindi Islamic Centre For Orphans Financially sustainable through diversified sources of funding to meet the needs of the Orphans.
Time lines were attached ranging from 1 month to 48 months and responsibilities were assigned to people.
A 6 (six) member implementation team was put in place with the duty of checking and making sure that all selected committees do conduct their tasks on time and full report and recommendations to be submitted to the governing council for approval/ disapproval.
