Shariff Assad is a retired Banking and Finance professional with
over 35 years of experience holding various high executive positions.
He is now a renowned Muslim leader and head of the Riyadha Islamic Centre in Malindi.

TRUSTEE
Sheikh Omar is a businessman and has an interest in properties, construction, real estate, and hardware.
He is also a philanthropist involved in various initiatives within the community including the construction of mosques, food distribution, Muslim school management, and other social needs

Orphan Qualification Criteria

Orphans are registered by the secretariat after going through a vigorous recruitment process from the member Mosques.
Orphan registration requirements include:
  • The Orphan born from a Muslim
    family
  • Resident of either Malindi Town or
    Watamu
  • Evidence of Marriage
    certificate/Affidavit
  • Death certificate of the Father
  • Orphan Birth Certificate/Notification
    of Birth
  • Mother/Guardian identification card.
  • Passport photo

Member Mosques

The member Mosques each nominate four representatives,
a leader as a Governing Council member and three people as
Delegates to constitute one Governing Council Board with the mandate
as Advisory Council of the Organization.
This Council nominates the Trustees and elects a seven-member Management Committee.
